The Faculty of Medicine, in cooperation with the Kirkuk Department of Health and Oncology Center, held a scientific seminar on the latest developments in the treatment of colon cancer and methods of early detection, in the presence and participation of the dean of the faculty, the vice president of the Iraqi society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, the director of Azadi Teaching Hospital, the captain of Kirkuk doctors and a number of doctors of the center of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil, the Najaf health department and the Fallujah Medical College with doctors from outside Iraq.
The dean of the Faculty, Dr. Fakhr al-Din Najm Nasser, said that the seminar aimed to demonstrate the symptoms of the disease in a person, methods of early detection, the latest diagnostic, radiological and endoscopic developments and therapeutic developments of the disease, as well as methods of using robots and endoscopic treatments in chemotherapy
The symposium touched on a number of factors for this disease, most notably obesity, healthy nutrition, hormones, the genetic aspect, as well as the aspect of health awareness and other factors.
