In the presence of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, the Scientific Assistant to the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abd Ibrahim Al-Obeidi, and a number of college deans, the tenth (five-a-side) football tournament for students of the university faculties were concluded by crowning the team of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences with the championship cup.The university president said, "There is a great interest and direction by the university to develop the sports movement, develop students' capabilities, and encourage sports and student activities, stressing the role of sports in enhancing the spirit of love, cooperation, and scientific competition among students."

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences won the championship cup after defeating the team from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences (5-1) in an exciting match that was attended by many university students and affiliates. At the end of the tournament, which witnessed a review of a number of sports games organized by the Directorate of Youth and Sports of Kirkuk, medals, prizes, and gifts were distributed to the winning teams, match referees, and the organizing committee.
