The College of Agriculture, Hawija, held a workshop on organic fertilizer, with the participation of a number of researchers, specialists and faculty members. The workshop included a lecture by M.M. Engy Nawzat Abdullah, in which she discussed the benefits of organic fertilizer for soil in terms of increasing the revitalization and fertility of the soil, as well as containing elements necessary for plants such as nitrogen, which helps in the growth of the vegetative system, and phosphorus, which helps to activate the roots in the absorption of nutrients from the soil, as well as About potassium, which plays a role in flowering and fruiting. The workshop aimed to demonstrate the importance of plant organic fertilizers resulting from industrial plant waste such as castor, sesame and cotton seed meal, which contain nitrogen by 6.5-7%, and adding organic fertilizer to the soil Sandy soil results in good cohesion of agricultural soils, in addition to increasing its ability to retain water.
